Fluminense's Rafael Moura has been hit with a 10-match ban for spitting at Flamengo's Renato Abreu during a match between the two Rio de Janeiro rivals in October.
In additon, Flu coach Abel Braga has been five matches after he was sent off for insulting the fourth official and had to be escorted off the pitch by police. A disciplinary tribunal heard both cases this week and said that Braga refused to leave the pitch even after requests from the police and continued to insult the referee.
Moura and Abreu clashed during the encounter - which finished 3-2 to Flamengo - when an elbow from the latter left Moura with a bloody mouth. The Fluminense forward spat at Abreu in response and has been hit with a hefty ban by the disciplinary panel.
Fluminense take on Botafogo in the final round of matches in the Brazilian Campeonato this Sunday while Flamengo travel to title contenders Vasco da Gama.
