Just days after announcing Adriano should be fit to make his Corinthians debut on October 9, the club have fined the striker 10% of his salary after he turned up late to training.
The ex-Roma forward joined Corinthians earlier this year but has not played yet due to a ruptured Achilles' tendon.
He has recently returned to training, however, and Joaquim Grava, a doctor with the club, confirmed he could be available to play against Atletico Goianiense on October 9.
"Adriano will probably make his first appearance against Atletico, that is the aim. But it depends upon the team as well," said Grava.
"He is still a little bit overweight but we are much more pleased with his weight than we were before."
Adriano is reported to have gained weight after months of inactivity while battling injuries but is now back in training again.
The Brazilian said that a flight delay caused him to miss training, an excuse that did not stop Corinthians from fining him.
